The Deerfield-Bannockburn Fire Protection District is responsible for providing fire protection and emergency medical services to the Villages of Deerfield (north of Lake Cook Road), Bannockburn, a portion of  Riverwoods and Lincolnshire in West Deerfield Township, and areas of unincorporated Lake County. The portion of the Village of Deerfield located south of Lake Cook Road is served by the  Northbrook Rural Fire Protection District.

Continuous training in firefighting techniques and emergency medical procedures is provided to ensure proficiency in all areas. Firefighter/paramedics are certified through the Office of the State Fire Marshal and the Illinois Department of Public Health. The department also has trained personnel on teams that respond to special incident types such as:

  • Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
  • Technical Rescue (TRT) Confined Space, High Angle, Trench, and Building Collapse
  • Underwater Rescue and Recovery (Dive)

The members of these teams serve not only our community, but are called to assist other departments as part of a regional team.

Our equipment which protects our citizens and their property include: three pumpers, one aerial ladder truck, one pumper squad, four paramedic ambulances, one command vehicle, and four administrative/support vehicles.
